Greetings from ORRISSA family.
We would like to introduce ourselves as a Grassroots level Voluntary Organisation working for the unprivileged sections since the year 1988. We have been promoting the sustenance of the local traditional agriculture systems along with protection to the local traditional seed traits and farming systems primarily among the adivasi community in Odisha state.
Through our efforts there are 11 adivasi farmer organizations have been championing the work at the community level involving more than 10 thousand families. These small holder families have demonstrated that the free exchange of seeds and knowledge is helping them to produce more food for the families. The farmer organizations have also motivates their members to grow traditional crops for the market to increase their income.
The adivasi farmer's organizations of Malkangiri have been organizing Annual Community Seed Fair to celebrate the bounty of local natural resources including the traditional seeds every year. This Community Seed fair is completely being organised by the local advice farmers on their own.
This year the Community Seed Fair at Malkangiri in Odisha state is being scheduled on 14th February 2016 at Adamunda village of Malkangiri district of Odisha. We welcome you to participate in this fair and encourage the indigenous farmers.
